Ingredients

  • 2 tsp Sunflower oil
  • 1 finely diced Onion
  • 500g / 17.64oz ground Lean minced beef
  • 1 heaped tbsp paste Tomato purée
  • 1 heaped tsp Mixed dried herbs
  • 0.5 tsp Ground cumin
  • 1 tsp Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 heaped tsp Smoked paprika
  • 1 low-salt Beef stock cube
  • 400g / 14.1oz can Chopped tomatoes
  • 400g / 14.1oz can Kidney beans
  • 20g / 0.7oz bittersweet Dark chocolate
  • to taste freshly ground Black pepper

Preparation

  1. Heat 2 tsp Sunflower oil in a large pan over medium heat.
  2. Add 1 finely diced Onion and cook until translucent.
  3. Add 500g / 17.64oz ground Lean minced beef and cook for 4-5 minutes, breaking up the meat.
  4. Add 1 heaped tbsp Tomato purée paste, 1 heaped tsp Mixed dried herbs, 0.5 tsp Ground cumin, 1 tsp Worcestershire sauce, 1 heaped tsp Smoked paprika, freshly ground Black pepper, and 1 low-salt Beef stock cube. Stir well.
  5. Add 400g / 14.1oz can Chopped tomatoes and 400g / 14.1oz can Kidney beans.
  6. Simmer for 15 minutes, mashing the Kidney beans slightly.
  7. If using, chop 20g / 0.7oz bittersweet Dark chocolate and stir in. Simmer for another 5 minutes.

Good to know
