Ingredients

250g / 9oz 5% fat Minced beef, 250g / 9oz 15% fat Minced pork, 1 small, finely diced Onion, 1 heaped tsp Garlic granules, 40g / 1.41oz Dried breadcrumbs, 1 Egg, 40g / 1.41oz grated Cheddar, freshly ground Black pepper, sunflower, vegetable or olive, for baking Oil

Preparation

1. Preheat the oven to 220°C (240°C fan) / 475°F / Gas 9. 2. Put all ingredients (except the oil) into a large bowl with freshly ground black pepper. Mix well until the onion and breadcrumbs combine with the meat. 3. Take a golf ball-sized amount of mixture and roll it into a smooth ball. 4. Shape the meat into long sausages around 7.5cm (3in) in length. 5. Place meatballs on a lined baking tray, ensuring they aren’t touching. Drizzle with a little oil. 6. Bake for 15–20 minutes until golden and cooked through, turning halfway to cook evenly. 7. Cut each sausage into quarters lengthwise for babies from 6 months, and in half lengthwise from 10 months.

Good to know

Allow to cool fully before placing in a freezer bag and freezing for up to 3 months. Reheat from frozen in the oven at 180°C fan (200°C/400°F/Gas 6) for 10–15 minutes until piping hot inside.
