Ingredients
- 200g / 7.05oz Spelt flour
- 75g / 2.65oz Ground hazelnuts
- 2 tsp Cream of tartar baking powder
- 1 tsp Ceylon cinnamon powder
- 3 Eggs
- 350g / 12.35oz Apple puree
- 75ml / 2.54fl oz Milk
- 50ml / 1.69fl oz Neutral oil
- 4 Apples
- 1 tbsp Lemon juice
Preparation
- Mix 200g / 7.05oz Spelt flour, 75g / 2.65oz Ground hazelnuts, 2 tsp Cream of tartar baking powder, and 1 tsp Ceylon cinnamon powder in a bowl.
- Beat 3 Eggs until frothy in another bowl. Add 350g / 12.35oz Apple puree, 75ml / 2.54fl oz Milk, and 50ml / 1.69fl oz Neutral oil. Stir well.
- Combine the dry and wet mixtures until smooth.
- Preheat the waffle iron to medium heat. Grease with oil.
- Pour 4 tbsp batter into the waffle iron and bake for 3 minutes. Repeat to make 5 waffles.
- Wash, halve, core, and slice 4 Apples into 25 slices. Drizzle with 1 tbsp Lemon juice. For children under 3, steam apple slices in water.
- Separate waffles into hearts and place a wooden stick into each. Add an apple slice on top as a sail.
